Daniels Akpan is a globally recognized social entrepreneur, innovation specialist, and development practitioner with over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector. He is the Co-founder and Director of Programs and Global Development at the African Centre for Education and Development—a nonprofit organization advancing education and development across Africa and the United States through research, practice, and policy.
Daniels also leads Daniels Akpan International Inc., a consulting firm registered in Nigeria and the United States. The company partners with nonprofits, businesses, governments, and individuals to tackle complex global challenges with a deep commitment to building inclusive and sustainable communities.
He regularly engages with heads of state, international policymakers, educators, and executive board members to drive systemic change. His work focuses on addressing critical social issues in education through design thinking, innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment.
Daniels initiatives have led to the creation of over 34 small businesses and directly impacted more than 120,000 beneficiaries across 12 countries. His efforts have earned him numerous awards, including the National Civic Responsibility Award from the Nigerian Government. He is also the first African recipient of the Moise A. Khayrallah Innovation Fund at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a Master of Arts in Educational Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship.
Daniels has received training and education from institutions across Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Scotland, and the United States.
